How To Do An Ombre Painting

Step one:

Start with your lighter color paint and your wide paint brush. Using even, horizontal strokes, paint the lighter colour on the lesser one-two inches of the canvass. Paint along the bottom border equally well. Try to load the pigment on thick and allow the excess paint to get together on the sides of the sheet. This will brand it easier to pigment the sides later! Always paint in the same management, horizontally.

Step 2:

Add a small amount of colour #2 (blue) to color #one (white) on the pallet. Add this color merely above colour #ane and begin to blend back and along into colour #1, until you can't notice a line between the 2.

Remember, always move in even, horizontal strokes. Keep moving the brush dorsum and forth on the canvas until the colors are blended seamlessly.

Go along this process the entire way up the canvas: add a lilliputian more than of color #2 (blue) and work it into color #ane (white) using even, horizontal strokes.

Step 4:

You can use some other clean brush or wipe the excess paint off your brush and become over the sides one last time to be certain they're blended evenly.

Step 5:

Allow your canvas to dry entirely (should take x-30 minutes depending on how thick you painted). Touch upward the top and bottom sides as necessary, but be warned– don't touch up the front of the canvas! It is extremely difficult to match the exact colour, and if you lot endeavour you're bound to mess up the ombre effect. Trust me, I speak from feel.
